International Day of Peace

September 21 is the International Day of Peace.

Today we remember that in a world filled with violence Jesus calls us to be peacemakers. Let us live in a way that says violence is never the way. Let the Church lead the way in bringing peace and love in a world filled with violence and hate.

Below is a great song from Jewish singer/songwriter Matisyahu titled One Day.

Here are some of the powerful lyrics:

“All my life I’ve been waiting for
I’ve been praying for
For the people to say
That we don’t wanna fight no more
There will be no more wars
And our children will play
One day [6x]
One day this all will change
Treat people the same
Stop with the violence
Down with the hate
One day we’ll all be free
And proud to be
Under the same sun
Singing songs of freedom like
One day”
