The reformation theologian, Martin Luther, one said that that “to be Christian without prayer is no more possible to be alive without breathing.” It’s probably a common belief among most of us that prayer is an integral part the life of a person of faith. Yet, if we are honest, sometimes prayer is challenging and we don’t even know where to begin. And when we often don’t know where to begin we choose not to pray and our souls become dry and empty.
The good news is there is no one right way to pray. We can pray in many ways and each of us can work to find the ways we can most easily connect to God through different practices of prayer.
I want so share a resource with you to help you get started. This resource offers a small theological foundation for prayer and then offers a variety of different prayer practices for you to experiment with. I hope you can find one or two that will speak to you. The resource also shares some great prayer books you can buy if you would like prayer to be a richer and more meaningful spiritual practice in your life
