Observing Children’s Sabbath

In October there is a multi-faith recognition of Children’s Sabbath. This observance serves as a reminder to advocate for the rights of children all across the world. This year’s theme is “How Long Must I Cry for Help? Bending the Arc toward God’s Vision of Justice for Children”

This world is far from how God desires it to be and Children’s Sabbath is another reminder that God has called us to work towards a different reality.

World Vision offers us this video to hear the voices and stories of children from around the world. Their stories have pain and yet hope for a better community and life. May God speak deeply into our lives and may we sense God’s call to action and prayer

Martin Luther King once said “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.” May Children’s Sabbath serve as a reminder that we never become silent about the things that matter to God. The stories and lives in this video deeply matter to God and because of this they matter to us
