On September 13 at Fairfax Corner, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is having an Out of the Darkness Walk.
AFSP shares: “When you walk in the Out of the Darkness Walks, you join the effort with hundreds of thousands of people to raise awareness and funds that allow AFSP to invest in new research, create educational programs, advocate for public policy, and support survivors of suicide loss. As the leader in the fight against suicide, and thanks to walkers like you from cities across the country, AFSP has been able to set a goal to reduce the annual suicide rate 20% by 2025.”

Suicide is a very important issue. My hope is that all youth in our community who have suicidal thoughts can know they can come to our youth group to find people who truly care, will deeply listen to their story, and will journey with them in life. We are committed to being a reflection of our Creator’s love who joins us in the midst of our pain.
We are committed to being present in the lives of youth, to never judge someone’s feelings or story, and to help you know that you are not alone. If you have suicidal thoughts, please reach out to us. God has amazing things planned for you and a beautiful story to still be written. We are here to journey with you through the highs and lows of life.
Grace and peace,
